The economic space MMO Prosperous Universe will officially begin its Early Access phase on February 24th, 2021 which will also include a universe reset to the game. All players will start the game on the same page, giving both seasoned players and new players the opportunity to make new alliances, try different methods of production, and become fast galactic billionaires. The end of the First Access period marks a switch to a subscription-based pricing model with several packages to choose from. Thousands of players have signed up since Prosperous Universe released its first public access version in December of 2018. The game went free-to-play in 2019, staying true to its promise of avoiding microtransactions completely. Early Access begins after two years of the First Access phase.
Prosperous Universe is a real-time business simulation MMO set in the not-so-distant future. German independent game studio simulogics started development on Prosperous Universe in 2015, over a decade after the launch of their first, still active MMO AirlineSim. You are the CEO of your own spacefaring company – explore the galaxy, design spaceships, forge alliances, and most importantly: produce, trade, transport, and profit. Manage your business through a highly customizable user interface called APEX, accessible via web browser. Contribute to a purely player driven MMO economy in a persistent universe allowing for a multitude of play styles devoid of in-game grinding. With its emphasis on realism in everything from the economy to space travel, Prosperous Universe provides a unique experience to players of all backgrounds.
Prosperous Universe is a space economy MMO played entirely through a highly customizable user interface named APEX, which allows you to manage your own spacefaring company via web browser on any desktop computer. New and old players alike will join together and explore 4,000+ planets, 637 systems, and 108 sectors. The player’s first base will become their company’s headquarters. Production lines will receive special bonuses based on their location, for example a 5% bonus to manufacturing. Level up the company’s HQ to increase the number of bases that can be built. This game does not set any goals for you. You decide whether you want to be the richest CEO in the system, a respected political leader, a lone hermit farming a desolate planet, or an explorer scanning the fringes of the known universe.
All players share the same, persistent universe. As a result, every single action bears the potential to have a lasting effect on the future of the game. Rather than having NPCs and scripted events shape the course of history, economic and political developments are purely driven by players. At the heart of our vision lies the concept of a closed economic loop. There have been thousands of browser-based sci-fi strategy games before that emphasize military conflict. By contrast, Prosperous Universe is all about the economy and complex player-driven supply chains in which every material has to be either produced or purchased from other player-run companies. Through its many intertwined features, Prosperous Universe also allows for meaningful, high-level meta game play like forging huge alliances, building lasting empires and waging trade wars.
